History

In 1921 the company was founded by Gebhard Balluff as a mechanical repair shop. With further progress and development in various fields in 1956, the first electromechanical limit switch with the company's patent was ready for mass production and presentation to the market. Electronic sensors such as distance measuring and induction sensors, pragmacy switches, identification in 1980, etc. subsequently transformed the company from a repair shop to a reputable and advanced company in the field of industrial sensors. With further development and progress in In 1971, the first branch in Austria and its continuation in the following years in Australia and Ireland, more than 27 branches around the world became part of this company. The company, as a Balof group, now includes partner companies and subsidiaries with unique products such as STM Sensor Technologie and SIE Sensorik Industrie-Elektronik.
