Hot wire Anemometer
Anemometers with hot wire measuring mechanism can be used to accurately and quickly measure wind speed or cfm and airflow flow. In gaseous fluids, this technique can measure changes in wind speed by measuring the temperature around a fluid that is continuously heated at a constant temperature, and with a sensor built into the probe of this anemometer.
Thermal models of two sensor models are usually used. Cylindrical sensors (hot wire and hot film models) are mostly used to measure fluid velocity, while flat or hot film sensors are mostly used to measure wall shear stress.
Hotwire sensors, as the name implies, are made of a short circular resistor wire. Hot film sensors are made of a layer of conductive material that is placed on non-conductive materials and can be made cylindrical or flat.
Temperature anemometer is one of the most common methods of measuring wind speed due to the simplicity of the mechanism and the small size of the probe.
